Lemongrass, shallots, garlic, honey, fish sauce, and brown sugar coat the Easy Vietnamese BBQ Pork. This dish is served with cooled rice noodles, an assortment of herbs, and pickled vegetables.
1 lb of pork shoulder sliced into 2 to 3 inch strip
2 tablespoon of minced garlic
3 tablespoon of minced shallots
3 tablespoon of minced lemongrass
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
1 tablespoon of honey
1 tablespoon of fish sauce
2 tablespoon of soy sauce
1 teaspoon of black pepper
2 green onions thinly slice
3 tablespoon of chopped cilantro
For Sweet Fish Sauce or Nuoc Charm
1/2 cup of fish sauce
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of fresh lime juice
1/4 cup of boiling water to dissolve the sugar
2 Thai chilies minced (this optional)
2 cloves of garlic minced
1/4 cup of shredded carrot
How to Make Easy Vietnamese BBQ Pork
Allow the sugar to dissolve in boiling water for a few minutes before adding the remaining ingredients. Adjust the flavor to your liking.
Marinate the pork for 3 hours or overnight with the remaining ingredients. Thread the pork with a wooden skewer or just gill it on a rack. Grill the meat until done on medium heat.
This BBQ Pork is frequently served with rice noodles, pickled carrot daikon, cucumber, lettuce, and herbs, as well as Vietnamese sweet fish sauce. Serve over rice and garnished with toasted peanuts.
